THE GLO DEAL DOES NOT RESTRICT ME (TIME FOR ME) – BECCA.

Her debut single took her into mainstream music in a sparkle of a light. It became the melodious heart warmer of many music fans.
Having Kwabena Kwabena to harmonize her efforts on the single “You lied To Me”, saw the sky-hearted conquest of the track.
She has graduated from a tenderfoot who slated up for the bill in the Mentor series to a celebrated icon not only in Ghana but in Africa and the world as a whole.
Her atypical talent has seen her mount stages with living legends and musical giants she only dreamt of in her wildest of fantasies. Hugh Masakela tops the list.
Her charisma on stage is simply splendiferous and her stage manners stand her out of all the female performers in the country.
Managing fame is one thing she and she alone can rightly boast of with the help of her obdurate manager Mr. Kiki Banson.
Very little has been heard from her lately and fans were beginning to wonder if the Glo deal had affected her. She cleared the air this past week on GTV’s Rhythmz.
In an exclusive interview with Joselyn, she said her absence from the media scope was not by virtue of any external factors but by the fact that she was busily working on her new album.
The album titled “TIME FOR ME” will have a minimum of 10 tracks and a maximum of 12 tracks. In her words “I am putting a lot of work into it”.
Answering to the question what she does for leisure, she re-echoed the soft spot she had for children and that her “CHILDREN’s BALL PROJECT” which was aimed at raising money to facilitate the acquisition of 10,000 NHIL for children had taken a lot of her time.
Responding to the Glo deal pandemonium, she said “Glo and I had been friends for a long time, before they even came to Ghana. I had done a lot of promotions with them in Nigeria and South Africa. Becoming an ambassador was just a little add on to an existing relationship”.
The remix of her “Fire” single which featured Samini was also in the line of discussions. Touching on the fragile side of the collaboration was the fact that Samini was an MTN ambassador and Becca a Glo ambassador.
“The Glo deal does not stop me from collaborating with other artistes. GLO, MTN and we as artistes are individuals and independent. The Glo deal does not allow me to perform on stages that have brandings of a competitor, that’s all.”
In her final words she expressed her undaunted appreciation to her fans. “There is a song on the album for everybody, I’m just putting a lot of work into it and I know there will be a song in there for everybody...”
The songstress who rehearses three times a week and uses the other day’s to raise awareness for her project is set to take Ghanaian music to the next level.
